The 2004 Display
Summary of the day
Saturday 27th November 2004 saw the switch on of the 44th Newport Pagnell Christmas
lights display. This year everyone was very lucky as the weather was very
mild which helped boost the numbers of people who came along to enjoy the
event.
Despite their dwindling numbers the lighting volunteers managed to organize
a splendid line up of entertainment. We are especially pleased that the
Salvation Army band were able to come along and provide a truly classical
Christmas atmosphere. This was in musical contrast to the live music from
Dodman and Fat Freddy's Band.
This year the walking parade was kindly arranged by the Newport Pagnell
Town Council and it arrived at the main stage just before 5pm. Waiting to
turn on the lights was the sponsor a bulb winners Mr and Mrs Clutton and the Morning Crew from
Horizon Radio were on hand to help warm up the crowd.
